This limited edition print taken from an original painting by Colin Carter depicts Rick Mears, who won the 1979 Indy 500 in his Penske PC6. Starting from the pole, he led the race three times for a total of 25 laps. He crossed the finish line ahead of runner up A.J.Foyt to claim his first Indy 500 victory. Rick dominated Indy Car racing from the late 70's to the early 90's winning a total of 29 Indy Car races and 40 pole positions. At Indy, Rick started on the pole 6 times and won in 1979,1984,1988 and 1991. Rick won three Cart Indy Car World Series Championships and was named Driver of the Decade by the Associated Press.
